Tara Meditation | May 29

TIBETAN BUDDHIST MEDITATION
TARA MEDITATION
Tuesday, May 29 —
6:30 – 7:15 pm
Lead by Gonpo Ludup’s Felicia Romero

ABOUT THIS PRACTICE
We will do a  simple Tara meditation practice with requests & offerings.  Buddha Tara is said to be quick to bring results and remove obstacles. If you’d like to bring an offering of food or flowers, you are very welcome to do so.

ABOUT BUDDHA TARA
“Tara is a buddha who represents in particular all enlightened beings’ skillful activities, or the means by which they communicate with and guide us according to our ability. Lama Zopa Rinpoche explained: ‘All actions of the Buddha manifest in the female form, Tara, to help sentient beings successfully accomplish both temporal and ultimate happiness.’ Because she represents action – the capacity to act, to cut through obstacles, and to be successful – she also represents courage and power. Contemplating Tara brings quick results in whatever we want and need.”
– from How to Meditate by Ven. Sangye Khadro

Benefactors for Yangsi Rinpoche’s Teachings

We are offering Seven Special Benefactor Packages for Gonpo Ludup benefactors who offer $275 or more to help us cover the costs of our upcoming teachings with Yangsi Rinpoche. Contact Kate if you would like to help support Gonpo Ludup in this way: kate@gonpoludup.org

Each Special Benefactor will receive:

• A hard copy of Geshe Sopa’s autobiography, Like a Waking Dream, signed by Yangsi Rinpoche. Geshe Ngawang Gendun, Yangsi Rinpoche’s previous incarnation, was one of Geshe-la’s principal teachers and there is a beautiful photo of Geshe Ngawang Gendun in the book.

• A mala blessed by Yangsi Rinpoche.

A Samantabhadra Protection card designed for homes by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. “By displaying this protection in the house, activities that take place in the house and have no meaning will become meaningful and virtue will be created,” says Rinpoche. “In this way, having this protection in the home becomes good feng shui, a way of creating an auspicious environment.”

A glass crystal engraved with the mantra of Guru Rinpoche, or Padmasambahava. “When this mantra is put in a container of water, according to Rinpoche, the mind and heart are blessed by drinking water that has touched the mantra.” (FPMT.org)

• And we will offer a special Medicine Buddha puja dedicated to our benefactors & their loved ones with Ven. Gyalten Palmo when she is here as our Teacher in Residence in December.

Tibetan Buddhist Pujas in Laguna Beach | Medicine Buddha Puja | Oct 11

TIBETAN BUDDHIST PUJAS IN LAGUNA BEACH
Medicine Buddha Puja
Wednesday, Oct 11
7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

A puja held at OM Meditation Studio.

All are welcome to join Gonpo Ludup Study Group in a Medicine Buddha, or Healing Buddha, puja at OM Laguna Beach. We will make prayers and dedicate to the peace and well-being of our local community, friends, family and loved ones and for all communities suffering around the world. We also always dedicate for those who are sick or dying or who have recently passed away.

The lamas say that Medicine Buddha is the manifestation of the healing energy of all enlightened beings.

If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to email the names of your friends and loved ones to Kate Macdonald: kate@gonpoludup.org. We will include them all in our prayers..

“The seven Medicine Buddhas manifested in order to pacify theobstacles to the achievement of temporary happiness, liberation and the ultimate happiness of full enlightenment,” says the great Tibetan Buddhist Yogi Lama Zopa Rinpoche spiritual director of FPMT. “They are powerful in healing diseases as well as for purification. The Medicine Buddha practice can be used to help purify those who have already died and liberate them from suffering. It is also very powerful in bringing about success, both temporary and ultimate.”

All are welcome. No experience necessary.

You are welcome to bring offerings of food, fruit, flowers for the altar. Otherwise just bring yourself!

A free event, offered by Gonpo Ludup.
