We provide meditation, Buddhist psychology and philosophy classes and workshops in Laguna Beach, as well as a variety of other local community events & offerings. We also offer international online classes and courses with Buddhist teachers around the world that anyone around the world is welcome to join from their computer in their own home.
We were founded in 2015 under the spiritual direction of Tibetan Buddhist yogi & scholar Lama Zopa Rinpoche. We are part of Rinpoche’s worldwide organization the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), and were named by Rinpoche for the great second century Indian Buddhist Philosopher Nagarjuna. (“Gonpo Ludup” is the Tibetan for the sanskrit “Nagarjuna.”)
We are run entirely by volunteers. May all sentient beings be free of suffering & its cause. May all sentient beings achieve true happiness.
Gonpo Ludup is an FPMT study group. The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) is a worldwide network of Buddhist centers and activities founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe, and under the spiritual direction of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. FPMT study groups are groups which are using this status as a probationary period before a group becomes a legal entity and a full FPMT center. FPMT Study Groups are not yet affiliated with the FPMT, and therefore do not have the same responsibilities as a center, financially or administratively. FPMT Study Groups are required to work towards becoming an FPMT center within a period of two years.
