FPMT Teacher Miffi Maxmillion will be teaching one of her specialty courses, Every Day Dharma for Daily Life, live from Langri Tangpa Centre, our sister center in Brisbane, Australia. Miffi will be teaching directly to us; this is an incredible opportunity to receive teachings from an amazing Western teacher.

This is a short, four-week course for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. It is a great introduction to for beginners to apply the Buddhist teachings to our busy, modern lifestyle. It is also a great refresher for returning students, to check they have all the ingredients for a strong and stable Dharma practice.

Whether we are religious or not — we all want to make the most of our life and not be caught in wasting time on distractions! Discover how to make every moment of the day meaningful, regardless of work, and how to transform our mundane activities into the path to lasting happiness.

Topics include:
• Applying the “Five Powers” as a way to structure your day in a meaningful manner, no matter what the work you are doing.
• What to do when you don’t have time to meditate.
• How to transform cooking, cleaning and even getting dressed, into the path to enlightenment.
• How to set a motivation for your day that is is both powerful and personal.
• How to purify mistakes and overcome guilt.

We will be using Zoom video software for these classes. After you register, we will email you the Zoom link to that particular class  – it’s very user-friendly! You simply click on the Zoom link, and will receive a prompt to download Zoom on your computer. It takes about two minutes, depending on your Internet speed.

Miffi Maxmillion runs the spiritual program at Langri Tangpa Centre in Brisbane, and is an FPMT registered western teacher. She left behind a thriving haute couture and costume business in Melbourne, when her mother Inta Mckimm (who ran LTC) became sick with cancer in 1997. Packing her bags for two weeks, she is still here 19 years later! Miffi was brought up a Buddhist and had the great good fortune to play with Lama Yeshe as a child, and his hook of compassion sustained her through the many rebellious stages of growing up. She readily admits to watching far too much TV and is an avid New Yorker magazine reader. You can check out some of Miffi’s teachings on the Langri Tangpa website here.

“A student of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa since she was a little girl, Miffi is a wonderful teacher: practical, down to earth, funny, and a genuine practitioner.” – Ven. Robina Courtin

“Miffi is a very precise and clear teacher. Her thorough knowledge of the Dharma via the FPMT lineage is taught in modern day vernacular, making her teachings accessible to both beginner and advanced students alike.” – Ben Aitchison, FPMT student
