The holiday season can be a joyful time, but for many of us, also an incredibly stressful and emotional time of year. Reuniting with family & old friends can dredge up old feelings and patterns of behavior we thought we’d outgrown and left long behind. Our stress levels rise, and our ability to cope flies out the window. People with unloving parents or problematic families face a whole different set of challenges. The holiday season can also trigger feelings of depression, loneliness and isolation. And for those of us not in contact with our families, or with unresolved pain and trauma, the holidays can be an intensely suffering time.

Buddhist nun Ven. Gyalten Palmo will offer a Buddhist perspective on getting through the the holidays – or any times of stress or difficulty in our lives. Ven. Palmo will guide us through various Buddhist psychological tools & techniques to help us skillfully navigate the emotional challenges of the holiday season and all of life’s ups and downs. We might even start to enjoy the holidays, Ven. Palmo says!
